ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Inter-Services Public Relations has termed the alleged scuffle between army personnel and motorway police official ‘sad’ asserting to do justice in the issue that occurred near Attock on Saturday.

Motorway police official allegedly roughed-up by army personnel
Captain Qasim and Captain Danial, driving their private vehicles, were signaled to pull their throttle on Peshawar-Islamabad motorway for alleged reckless driving however, the two kept on driving until the vehicle was chased by motorway police.
Reports suggest that both the armymen pointed guns at the motorway official as they stepped out of their cars following the chase and contacted the nearby army unit.
Major Zafran led around four vehicles to the site in a prompt response adding to the misery of the assaulted police official.
It was reported that he was shifted to Attock Fort later on where he was kept in alleged wrongful confinement. However, he was ‘freed’ after higher police authorities took notice of the issue.
Sources privy to police stated that a First Information Report was lodged in Nowshera’s Akora Khattak Police Station under Sections 279, 342, 149, 186, 506, 353, 365 and 148. The FIR was registered on complaint made by Sub-Inspector Atif Khattak.


An officer of Pakistan Army’s media wing, ISPR vowed to be objective and do justice in the inquiry that has been launched.
On the other hand, a military official has pointed out a series of harassment-related incidents on the said section of motorway.
He said that all the aspects of the issue would be seen in detail and provocative factors on part of police, if any, would also not be ignored.
