Summary Imran Khan surrounded by profiteers who shall abandon him once their objectives are met: Gillani

MULTAN (Dunya News) – Former Prime Minister (PM) and Pakistan People s Party (PPP) leader Yousaf Raza Gillani stated on Friday that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief transgressed by raising slogans against Pakistan and the country’s armed forces, reported Dunya News.

While conversing with the media along with party leader Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmood after taking part in the party’s convention in a private hotel, Gillani stated that a number of ‘profit seeking uncles’ abandoned PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto but the party that gave the country its constitution and made it an atomic power continued to function.

Gillani said that the reorganisation of the party was being carried out at rapid pace. He added that MQM chief transgressed by speaking against the country and the armed forces. He demanded that action be taken against Muttahida chief in accordance with the law, further stating that the government should also adopt a clear stance over MQM’s policies.

Gillani refused to make comments upon the extension in the tenure of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and termed the issue as a matter that needed to be dealt with the government. PPP leader also emphasised upon the formation of a new strategy to cater the Panama Papers issue after consulting with the party’s leadership.

Former PM stated that PPP has not shifted to the reverse gear upon the Panama Papers issue and added that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was surrounded by a group of profiteers who shall abandon him (Khan) once their objectives are fulfilled.
