Summary Crimes relating to children are being misrepresented by media, says Punjab police chief
LAHORE (Dunya News) – a three-year-old girl has been kidnapped in Anarkali area while two children abducted from different areas yesterday have been recovered, reported Monday.
Three-year-old named Jannat Hayat was taken along by her family to shopping in Anarkali when according to her parents, she suddenly disappeared.
A case was lodged at Anarkali Police Station while on the other hand, four-year-old Noor Fatima and seven-year-old Haider who were reported kidnapped on Sunday were recovered according to the police.

Meanwhile, ten-year-old girl who was kidnapped earlier from Mughalpura area was recovered in Sindh’s Shikarpur.
Police stated that disabled Shahida was abducted around two months ago and the criminals were beggars like her father.
Dozens of child kidnapping incidents have surfaced in Lahore in the recent past and according to the police, most of the children run away from their homes due to violence or other clashes and fail to return.
Inspector General of Police, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukherha stated on Saturday that child kidnapping is not a ‘serious issue’and being wrongly portrayed by media as in most of the cases, children run away from their homes owing to harsh attitudes of their parents.
He said that the police have recovered many children from bus stands, railways stations and shrines in different cities however, many are still missing.
Supreme Court Bar Association President Barrister Syed Ali Zafar said that he was convinced with IGP s explanation. They thought that terrorist organisations were orchestrating kidnappings but that was not the case as told by police chief, Barrister Zafar said.
After Supreme Court took notice of growing number of abductions in Lahore, Punjab Police informed that 6,793 children went missing in the last six years.
