To a question, he said terrorists used two bicycles to targeted the paramilitary Rangers. Similar explosive material was used in the past attacks as well.

The attack could be an attempt to sabotage China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, he added.

Earlier today, the newly elected Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, condemned the attack and sought a report from the concerned officials.

The incident took place four days after two gunmen opened fire on army’s pick-up truck in Saddar area in the southern city of Karachi, claiming lives of Lance Naik Abdul Razzaq and Sepoy Khadim Hussain.

Both were shot in the head and face.

The law enforcement agencies launched a major crackdown on militants and criminals in the city, which is the country’s economic hub, in 2013 and levels of violence have dropped drastically since then.
