Summary Abrar was innocent, not involved in any crime, state his family members
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Youngster named Abrar was shot dead in Karachi last night by policemen because of dispute over selling a fake prize bond. Dunya News was able to retrieve footage of the incident whereas police also claimed that the perpetrator was apprehended.
According to one of Abrar’s companion, he posted an online advertisement to sell his mobile phone and was contacted by a person named Dilnawaz who showed interested in purchasing his phone.
Abrar reached the venue where the meeting between Dilnawaz was to take place but the latter attempted to purchase the phone by giving him fake prize bond.
When Dilnawaz attempted to flee from the scene, Abrar clung to his car and started to run along. Eyewitnesses state that shots were fired at the car from the police mobile present nearby resulting in the death of Abrar whereas Dilnawaz got injured.
In its investigation of the case, Ferozabad police station confirmed that firing was done by the officers present in the missing police mobile while they were entering Sindh Muslim Society from Shahra-e-Faisal.
A submachine gun (SMG) and 14 shells of bullets were retrieved from the area. Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) stated that the police mobile did not belong to the police station of the area. Injured Dilnawaz can be spotted from the footage retrieved by Dunya News.

Investigation also revealed that the vehicle registration plate present on Dilnawaz’s car was fake whereas the original registration plate of the vehicle was present inside the car. It was also brought to light after the investigation that Dilnawaz was a habitual offender.
Abrar, who died in the unfortunate incident, was married three years back and was the father of a child as well. Search for the policemen who fired shots at Dilnawaz and Abrar was underway whereas the car at which the shots were fired was transferred to the police station.
Abrar’s funeral prayers were offered on Monday and were attended by members of the family and residents of the area. The deceased’s mother demanded justice over her young son’s murder.

Members of Abrar’s family stated that he was innocent and was not involved in committing any crime. They said that it was the responsibility of the police to provide security to the public but the public was becoming victimised by the police.
Police officials recorded the statement of Assistant Sub-Inspector Police (ASI) Rahim regarding the entire incident. Rahim stated that he conversed with the police officers involved in the incident who stated that one dacoit was killed as a result of firing whereas the other was injured.
ASI Rahim said that the officers behind the incident belonged to Raja Umar Khatab’s team. He further stated that the policemen left the crime scene after having brief discussion regarding the incident.
