ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Monday inaugurated the second National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) mega-centre in the capital. While addressing the media, he stated that free and fair elections shall be conducted in Azad Kashmir, reported Dunya News.

Nisar stated that it was the responsibility of all to ensure that free and fair elections are carried out, further stating that a positive message shall be given to the entire world after carrying out transparent elections. Interior Minister said that the elections in Azad Kashmir shall be carried out under the supervision of Pakistan army, adding that 22,000 army officers shall be deployed during the elections.

Interior Minister admitted that the rate of street crimes in Karachi increased but at the same time he also claimed that out of the two unfortunate incidents that occurred in Karachi in recent past, the law enforcement agencies were close to solving one of them. Nisar stated that those behind Amjad Sabri s murder and the kidnapping of Owais Shah will soon be traced.

He stated that despite the fact that the Rangers were given exclusive authority in Karachi, it was the duty of the police not the Rangers to curb street crimes, further stating that there was a decline noted in crimes related to extortion, kidnapping and target killing. Interior Minister stated that two thousand retired army officers shall be hired in Sindh police.

Chaudhary Nisar also lambasted his political rivals and stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan should enquire about the Surrey Palace from Pakistan People s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto before welcoming him aboard his container, adding that he was not concerned with whoever sat on Khan s container. Interior Minister said that Bilawal and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari were the only political leaders whose assets were not made public.

Nisar said that NADRA mega-centres shall soon be inaugrated in every province of the country, adding that work was being done related to the introduction of mega-centres in Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.
