LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court has permitted administration of a private golf club situated on Canal Road to partially resume operations until September, reported Monday.

The court has ordered the administration to issue salaries of club’s employees ahead of Eidul Fitr.

Justice Sham Mehmood Mirza heard the plea filed by Barrister Ali Zafar. The petitioner told the court that Pakistan Railways has illegally sealed the property despite an injunction.

Arguing for the railways, its counsel stated that the golf club’s administration did not make the due payments despite several legal notices prompting the department to seal it.

The hearing was adjourned until September 1.

Earlier last month, railways had sealed the club citing violation of an understanding between the parties. Employees of the establishment took to the streets against the alleged illegal action.
