Karachi: 4 accused detained during Rangers, police operations

Summary Rangers and police arrested four accused during operations in different parts of Karachi on Friday.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Crackdown against criminal elements continued in Karachi as Rangers and police carried out operations in different parts of the city and apprehended four accused, Dunya News reported.

According to details, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted an operation in Lyari’s Chakiwara area and two terrorists. In Charge CTD informed media that arrested terrorists, identified as Abdur Rehman and Mehrab Khan, belonged to Lyari gang war Ustad Taju group.

In a separate development, two dacoits were killed in an encounter with police on Super Highway near ‘Nai Sabzi Mandi’. According to SSP Malir, Rao Anwaar, the dead dacoits were Afghan nationals. Police also arrested an accused after an encounter in Korangi Sadhe Panch area while two street criminals were arrehended from Haidry Market area.

On the other hand, Rangers carried out an operation in Defence area and arrested two activists of a banned outfit. The arrested persons were collecting extortion money from the locals.
