ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted monsoon rains across the country from tomorrow.

The Met office has advised the concerned authorities to remain alert during the coming week due to high risk of flash flooding in big cities because of isolated heavy downpours.

Widespread rain is likely in Islamabad, FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Kashmir during the first spell of monsoon. However, scattered rains and dust-thundershowers are expected in Sindh and Balochistan during the coming week.

According to Met office, rains are likely to start from upper parts of the country and will spread towards the central and southern parts during the week.

In the next 24 hours, rain will lash several cities of Sindh including Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.

In Karachi, the weather was pleasant in the morning however; the sun started to bake the plain areas with the arrival of afternoon.

Intense heat was observed in Benazirabad, Jacobabad, larkana and Kashmor.

Besides this, plain areas of Balochistan also remain in the grip of scorching heat.
