Summary FO has demanded Afghanistan to ensure safe return of refugees
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Office Spokesperson, Nafees Zakaria has said that India is involved in extremist activities in Pakistan, reported Thursday.
In a weekly briefing, Zakaria said that Indian spy, Kulbhushan Yadhav’s arrest and confessional video are the biggest evidence of Indian interference on Pakistani soil.
He said that a United States general also held India responsible for terrorism in Pakistan. Former US defense minister has dubbed India in the past as sponsor of terrorism in Pakistan, he added.
While talking about border management with Afghanistan, Zakaria said that the military and the government both are making efforts for effective measures in the matter. The purpose to manage border is to end infiltration of terrorists, he said.
The spokesperson informed that Afghanistan has agreed to effective border management.
The department has also reiterated today that Pakistan is making efforts for membership of Pakistan Nuclear Suppliers Group. A session of the NSG would review Pakistan’s formal plea, he told urging the members to maintain an impartial attitude while deciding about Pakistan and India as the neighbouring country is also lobbying for membership.
The department once against stated that the country believes in right to self-determination of Kashmiris and expressed concerns over human rights violations by Indian forces.
He rubbished reports about communication gap between China and Pakistan over China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and told that different projects were underway according to the schedule.
The Foreign Office stated that it was responsibility of all the international powers to ensure safe return of Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan.
Zakaria called for measures by Afghan government among other countries in the issue.
He also announced that Pakistan was formally getting membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation which is being attended by the President of Pakistan presently.
