ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Joint opposition has decided to bring in people’s notice details of discussions and talks with the government for resolution of Panama leaks issue and formation of Terms of References, reported Friday.

Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Khurshid Shah has said that a press conference would be held on Monday in this regard.

After meeting with different opposition members, Leader of the Opposition in Senate, Pakistan People’s Party’s Aitzaz Ahsan said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wants accountability of all while his aides want to protect him.

He highlighted the contradiction in stances of the premier and his minister.

Shah Mehmood among other participants at the meeting

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the party was disappointed over the parliamentary committee formed to compile joint Terms of References for probe into Panama leaks involving premier Nawaz Sharif’s daughter and family members.

A parliamentary committee, comprising of 12 members was formed last month to finalise TORs with consensus of the government and the opposition.

Mandate of the committee expired this month however, deadlock between the two sides persists.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Maryam Safdar and his two sons were named in Panama Papers for possession of offshore companies in a set of documents leaked from Mossack Fonseca, a law firm.

Nawaz Sharif’s family was among 140 leaders of the world who were named in the election.

Tehreek-e-Insaf leader, Imran Khan had pitched the issue to the nation as a pressing matter saying that the premier had lost moral authority to lead the country.

Opposition parties had formed an alliance against the government calling for a probe by Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali.
