Summary Sharmila Faruqi blames NAB, federal govt for delay in Sindh development projects

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Assembly member Sharmila Faruqi has on Saturday disclosed that only 62% of the total development budget was spent on projects, reported Dunya News.

Faruqi said that the projects were delayed due to four-month restriction imposed by Election Commission and secretaries of different institutions were afraid to sign on papers because of which tenders were not released.

She added that federal government was not helping the cause as only Rs 12 billion had been allocated for Sindh out of total Rs 800.

On the other hand, provincial minister Manzoor Wassan targetted MQM in his budget speech. He responded to MQM’s protest by saying that MQM could not do much against Rangers so they were venting out their anger against PPP in assembly.
