Summary US officials will hold discussions Pakistan’s civil and military leadership.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Senior director for Afghanistan and Pakistan at the US National Security Council Peter Lavoy and US special envoy Richard Olson have arrived in Pakistan today (Friday).
This will be the first high level contact between the two countries after the Afghan Taliban’s leader Afghan Taliban Mullah Akhtar Mansoor was killed in the US drone attack in Balochistan last month.
During their stay, both officials will meet Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, National Security Advisor Nasir Janjua and Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.
They are expected to discuss situation after US drone strike in Balochistan, Pakistan‘s efforts for Nuclear Supplier Group (NSG) membership and other issues, sources told.
