KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police on Wednesday arrested a woman whose husband handed over a child named Abdullah to officials at Edhi Centre in Clifton area of Karachi.

Both have been identified by the CCTV footage shared by Edhi officials with the police. The couple told Edhi officials that they found the child in Do Darya.

The woman is under investigation and police is trying to know the whereabouts of Rizwan from her. She told the officials that Rizwan was in Karachi till the previous day and was in a bid to leave the city.

Police called him from her wife number but he refused to come back and said that he was on Highway.switched off his phone afterwards however; the number has been put on surveillance.

According to police, Rizwan is an overseas identity card holder and may have escaped to Dubai.

Police has decided to pull out a week record of flights from Karachi airport.

On the other hand, police on Tuesday found a decomposed body inside a rented house in Clifton’s Delhi Colony and suspected that she may be Abdullah’s mother Haleema.

Meanwhile, people claiming to be Abdullah’s maternal relatives have also come forward.

The uncle named Omar failed to identify the body due to the decomposition whereas the grandmother and aunt are yet to recognize Haleema.

Moreover, the man has also refuse to take the body from the Edhi officials as it is decomposed and will now be buried in Karachi.

He has also submitted a written request in Edhi Centre in this regard.
