Summary Presiding officers for the two constituencies were given polling material in Rangers supervision
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Polling for by-elections in PS-106, PS-117 and PS-22 Noushehro Feroze constituencies of Sindh Assembly is underway while Rangers have been deployed for security, reported Thursday.
Presiding officers for the two constituencies were given polling material in Rangers supervision in offices of Deputy Commissioner East and Central.
The commission issued notification of Rangers and army deployment in the two constituencies to counter any untoward incident. The personnel on duty will have powers that of a magistrate.

On the other hand, 100 polling centres were established in PS-106 which will be managed by 900 staffers of the Election Commission of Pakistan. At least 84 polling stations were established in PS-117 and according to District Returning Officer of District East, all the preparations for the by-poll were finalised.
District Election Commissioner Central, Nadeem Haider said that 73 polling stations were ‘extremely sensitive’ as far as security situation goes and 27 were ‘sensitive’.
Electioneering for both of the Sindh Assembly s constituencies ended at midnight on Tuesday.
A close contest is expected between the candidates of Muttahida Quami Movement, Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in both the constituencies.
A meeting was held at the Rangers Headquarters to discuss the security situation, presided over by Director General Rangers.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement headquarters in Nine Zero is located in PS-106 constituency which is why it is considered favourite for the party that holds opposition benches in the provincial assembly.
The election commission has warned violators of the election code of Rs 1,000 fine or imprisonment up to six months or both.
