Summary ECP has also decided to educate people about Elections 2018 from July onwards
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – To ensure transperancy in the upcoming by-elections in three constituencies of Sindh Assembly, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decided that army and Rangers personnel shall be deployed in various areas where polling shall take place, reported Dunya News on Wednesday.
Army and Rangers personnel would have authority under section 4 and 5 Counter Terrorism Act. There will be three levels of security during elections and soldiers would be ready to tackle any turbulent situation.
Election Commission of Pakistan will start educating people about Elections 2018 so that mistakes made in previous elections are not repeated again.
Additional Director General (ADG) ECP Suraiya Jamal while talking to media in Lahore told that the voters lists would be updated and names of new voters would be included in the lists. She added that Election Commission would start voter’s education programme for people of backward areas. She also told that process to educate the election staff would also start soon.
