Home delivery of machine-readable passports begins in another 39 cities

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has initiated home delivery of machine-readable passports in another 39 cities, reported Wednesday.

In a media briefing in the federal capital, Director General, Usman Bajwa said that the department is delivering passports at people’s doorsteps in as many as 50 cities presently.

Locals are provided with over one lac fee-submission windows while purpose of launching home delivery services is to keep the people of trouble of standing in long queues.

He announced that another 73 passport offices will be opened in the coming months.

While answering a question, Bajwa said that authorities are conducting an effective operation against agent mafia. Those officials who would avoid taking action against fake agents would have to bear consequences, he warned.

The Director General further told that at least 30 regional passport officers were transferred until then.
