Summary Suspects belonging to political, religious parties and Lyari gang war will be included in the list.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – In order to ensure law and order during the holy month of Ramazan in Karachi, police have decided to prepare a list of more than 400 hundred suspects placed under the Fourth Schedule of Anti-terrorism Act, 1997, sources told Dunya News.
According to sources, action will also be taken against suspects who failed to appear in courts. The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have expressed concern that these suspects could plan extortion collection and target killings during the month of Ramazan.
Suspects belonging to political, religious parties and Lyari gang war are also included in the list. Suspects listed in Fourth Schedule were detained by Rangers and police during different raids in the metropolis.
The Fourth Schedule lists all the known suspects belonging to banned militant or sectarian organisations, who by their disposition could pose a threat to public peace and security.
Such suspects give an affidavit to the government that they would no more be associated with any such organisation in future or engage in any criminal activity.
