KARACHI (Dunya News) – The operation of security forces is successfully underway in different parts of Karachi as at least two suspects belonging to gangwar were apprehended during a raid in Pak Colony, reported on Saturday.

On a tip off received about the presence of criminal element, the intelligence agencies conducted a search operation in Pak Colony and took as many as two workers of gangwar into custody.

The detainees have been identified as Jameel and Ghaffar.

The sources told that Jameel works in fisheries while the Rangers personnel are also holding investigation of corruption in the fisheries department.

The senior security official stated that Karachi operation was launched by government which is giving positive outcomes as dozens of extortionists, target killers and terrorists have been held so far. He said that stern action will be continued until the end of last criminal.

The paramilitary Rangers have been based in the city since the mid-nineties and have been an active part of the recent anti-violence campaign.

On the other hand, many in the police say the operation so far has been a success because murders and extortion complaints have fallen.
