Summary Continental air would prevail over most parts of the country during next few days.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan Meteorological Department office has warned about very hot and dry weather during the current week all over the country, reported on Friday.

In Lahore, the temperature has been recorded as 37°C while Multan is witnessing scorching hot weather with 40°C.

Besides this, the temperature will likely to go upto 52°C in Larkana and 50°C in Dadu.

The plain areas of Punjab, KP, Balochistan and Sindh will be the centre of heat where day temperatures will cross over 45°C and central parts will touch a critical level of 50°C. Temperatures in mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) will also rise by 4-5°C above average resulting into rapid melting of snow and glaciers.

Continental air would prevail over most parts of the country during next few days.

In the next 24 hours, mainly very hot and dry weather is expected over most parts of the country. Very hot weather conditions would continue over plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pkahtunkhwa, Sindh (Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad divisions), Sibbi & Makran divisions.

However, rain-thunderstorm is expected at few places in Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas during (evening/night). While dust-storm is expected in Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, and Quetta divisions.

The highest temperatures recorded a day before are as follows:

Larkana 52°C, Turbat, Jacobabad, Moenjodaro 51°C, Sukkur, Bahawalanagr, Rahim yar khan, Dadu 50°C, Rohri, Padidan, Bhakkar, Kot Addu 49°C, Shaheed Benazirabad, Khanpur, D.G Khan, Shorkot, Noorpurthal 48°C, Mithi, Hyderabad, D.I Khan, Kohat, Multan 47°C.
