PANJGUR (Dunya News) – Frontier Corps (FC) has foiled major terror bid in Panjgur by confiscating huge cache of weapons and explosive material, reported on Thursday.

According to FC spokesman, forces conducted a search operation with an intelligence agency following a tip-off in the Sabzab area of Panjgur district. The officers recovered hidden weapons and explosives from the spot.

The arms include prepared IDs, 26 rocket launchers, two riffles and 1,350 gun bullets.

Officials say more than 5,000 militants have been killed since the launch of the latest offensive in tribal areas of Pakistan.

Earlier, FC raided Pak-Afghan border area Chaghi and recovered weapons hidden underground. The seized weapons included 10 sub-machine guns (SMGs), 13 rocket-propelled grenade-7 (RPG) rockets and 40 boxes of 12.7mm ammunition.

Pakistani security forces have been battling militants for over a decade following the late 2001 US-led invasion of Afghanistan.
