DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will perform the groundbreaking of 285 kilometer long Dera Ismail Khan-Hakla motorway today (Tuesday).
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zaffar Jhagra, Mulana Fazlur Rehman and other leaders will accompany the Prime Minister on the occasion.
The four-lane expressway is part of western route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and will be completed at a cost of over Rs129.8 billion in two years.
The project which includes construction of several bridges and interchanges will link the undeveloped areas of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa with the CPEC road network.
It will also bring enormous economic benefits to the less developed parts of the country.
After the groundbreaking ceremony, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will address a gathering at Ratta Kulachi Stadium where is is expected to announce construction of Chashma Right Bank Canal Phase-II, Ladhu Marginal Dyke and agriculture university.
Strict security arrangements are in place ahead of Prime Minister’s visit to the area.
