Summary Ladies attending PTI rallies in Islamabad, Lahore in the past few weeks were also mistreated
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – A similar situation as the one that rose during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) rally in Lahore a few weeks back, emerged during the party’s public meeting held at Peshawar as Lollywood model Annie Khan got surrounded by the crowd attending the rally and was mistreated, reported Dunya News on Monday.
Annie Khan found it utmost challenging to get herself out of the crowd surrounding her, however after quite some effort, she was able to find a way out.
PTI representative Naeemul Haq stated that the model reached the venue of the rally prior to its beginning which is part of a conspiracy against the rally, "ladies belonging to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) do not show up in rallies dressed up in this manner” he said. He added that the model was successful in conducting the ‘spectacle’ she had planned.
PTI leader Shoukat Yousufzai commenting on the incident stated that it seems as if the model was sent to the rally upon someone’s orders. He added that the matter will be investigated and further stated that the workers informed that she attended the rally to meet PTI chairman Imran Khan and commented that this is a conspiracy to deface the party. Yousufzai further said that this is not way to meet the leader of the party and suggested that the model should have waited for Khan to arrive at the venue.
Ladies attending PTI rallies in Islamabad and Lahore in the past few weeks were mistreated by the crowds there. The sad incidents are yet being investigated and the law enforcement agencies are still looking for the perpetrators.
While conversing with Dunya News afterwards, Annie stated that she is attending the rally out of her own heart s desire, not on someone s orders. She said that she can go anywhere to meet Imran Khan, further adding that the party workers were misbehaving with her whereas the police was doing nothing except for watching whatever was going on.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhary reacted upon the happening and said that it has been proven that women are mistreated in Imran Khan s rallies. He stated that Imran Khan should clarify as to why women have to face so many difficulties in his rallies.
