PM Nawaz said that foreign agencies are vindicating government’s claims of better economy and effective policies. None of his opponents could bring forth corruption worth a penny done on his part in 1999 and 1997 tenures, he added.

The Prime Minister vowed to end power outages across the country and provide cheaper in cost electricity to the people.

PM Nawaz said that the nation has rejected those who wish to drive the country back to the dark ages. He held Pakistan Tehreek-e-Isnaf (PTI) and other parties responsible for delay in completion of different projects by resorting to unnecessary protests. Foreign investment in the country was affected due to sit-ins, he added.

Politicians who carry out negative politics wasted nation’s one and a half year, he said.

He took the opportunity to complain to Opposition Leader in the National Assembly (NA) Khursheed Shah for demanding his resignation when he is making efforts for Sindh’s development and the government is constructing a bridge costing Rs 6.50 billion on River Sutlej there.

Earlier today, the Prime Minister performed ground breaking of 393 kilometre (Km) long Sukkur-Multan motorway section during his visit.

PM Nawaz was received by Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah on his arrival.

The Sukkur-Multan section is part of a major project, Peshawar-Karachi motorway. It is a part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and will be completed with help of the neighbouring country.

The six-lane motorway will pass through Multan-Jalalpur Peerwala Ahmed Pur East, Ubaro and Pano Aqil and will terminate at Sukkur.

The section will have 11 interchanges and ten rest-areas. A total of around 54 bridges are to be constructed in the project with one major bridge on River Sutlej.

According to spokesperson of the PM House, Multan-Sukkur motorway would pass through major districts of Punjab and Sindh including Sukkur, Ghotki, Multan, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.

Earlier this week the Prime Minister paid a visit to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and announced construction of a university in Lakki Marwat. He announced that the government would built an international airport in Bannu as well.

PM Nawaz had addressed a gathering in Bannu and lambasted the provincial government. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would establish a new ‘Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’ beating PTI’s hollow claims.

The premier was accompanied by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman who took the podium before the Prime Minister to call out PTI and other opposition parties on the alleged corrupt practices.
