Security agencies' operation in twin cities, 42 arrested including terrorists

Summary 39 people were taken into custody including 9 Afghans

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Security agencies on Wednesday conducted search operation in the twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi and arrested 3 most wanted terrorists, reported Dunya News.

Maps and documents of key installations were taken into custody while the arrested suspects have also confessed that they had been planning to attack a 5-star hotel and other important public attractions in Rawalpindi.

The joint-operation was conducted in Fauji Colony, Shakaryal, Pir Wadhai and near the area of Afghan settlements. The operation continued for many hours and ended with 39 people taken into custody including 9 Afghans.

On the other hand, security of Allama Iqbal Open University was also tightened due to a possible security threat while heavy contingents of Rangers and police commandos were also deployed in this regard.
