Layyah case: Police investigation remains inconclusive despite CM's rebuke

Summary Families of the victims are also worried due to stagnant progress of the case

LAYYAH (Dunya News) – The case of eating toxic sweets have resulted 31 deaths in Layyah affecting many families while investigative agencies are probing the case with inconclusive results adding that instead of sulfonyl, Chlorophenyl has been discovered from the sweets which has made the case more complex and difficult for the police, reported Dunya News.

Police have also extended physical remand of the suspects to declare it a case of enmity and grudge while the families of the victims are also worried due to stagnant progress of the case.

Lack of facilities in government-owned hospitals of Multan and Layyah has also caused increase in the causalities after which victims have demanded Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif to take strict and immediate and legal action against managerial incompetence of the hospitals.
