Summary Nisar says terrorism in country has decreased as a result of Pakistan government's efforts

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister of the Interior Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday met with United Kingdom National Security Advisor Mark Lyall Grant at 10 Downing Street. Both had discussion in regards to mutual interests, peace and stability in the region and increased cooperation, reported Dunya News.

Nisar praised UK government’s determination to keep supporting Pakistan in the many challenges the country faces. While addressing the media, he said that there is notable decrease in terrorist activities in the country as a result of the efforts of the Pakistani government adding that terrorism in the country in the previous year was at its lowest level as compared to that occurring in the past 9 years.

Nisar stated that fourteen thousand intelligence based operations were carried out in the country on the basis of the National Action Plan adding that the ultimate challenge now would be to uproot the aides and facilitators of the terrorists who are causing a divide in the society by spreading hatred.

He said that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif made multiple attempts to restore friendly ties with India however certain events occurring in the past have deteriorated the relations between both countries.

Interior Minister stated that Pakistan will continue its earnest efforts to restore peace and stability in Afghanistan for the betterment of the region adding that Afghanistan must stop blaming Pakistan over every unfortunate happening occurring within its boundaries.

Mark Lyall Grant ensured Nisar of utmost cooperation from the UK government in Pakistan’s battle against terrorism.
