LAHORE (Dunya News) – Local administration has declared as many as 9073 places ‘highly sensitive’ in Lahore so far, reported on Wednesday.
Intelligence agencies have issued a report over various security concerns in Lahore. The authorities said that police were informed about 8073 under threat places in March 2016 but the number has exceeded to 9073 till April.
Not only deployment of security personnel has been ensured but the provincial police department has also increased patrolling in the highly risked areas.
On the other hand, installation of CCTV cameras at various places has also been directed by the higher officials.
On March 27, a suicide bomber targeted a children’s play area in Gulshan Iqbal Park in the eastern city of Lahore, killing at least 76 people, mostly children and women.
Hundreds were also injured when explosives packed with ball bearings ripped through the crowds.
In response the army announced it had carried out raids in Lahore as well as in Faisalabad and Multan, two other major cities in Punjab province.
Dozens of suspects have been detained across Punjab till now.
