Soran Singh murder case: Police detain PML-N's deputy nazim in Shangla

Summary PTI MPA Soran Singh was gunned down in Buner district on Friday.

SHANGLA (Web Desk) – Police have detained Muhammad Alam, the deputy nazim of Puran Tehsil of Shangla district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today (Monday) in connection with murder of provincial minority affairs minister Sardar Soran Singh, Dunya News reported.

The deputy nazim belongs to the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN).

Earlier on Sunday, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Malakand Range Azad Khan confirmed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) District Councilor Swat Baldev Kumar was apprehended over suspicion after interrogation from arrested suspects.

He expressed hope that main culprits will be arrested soon.

Last rites of PTI MPA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s minority affairs minister Sardar Soran Singh were performed in his native village in Buner district on Saturday.

He was gunned down when gunmen on motorbikes stopped his car in Buner district, some 160 kilometres (100 miles) northeast of Peshawar, on Friday evening and opened indiscriminate fire.

Singh‘s murder was widely condemned by his fellow lawmakers and rights activists.
