Summary PM says those who are asking for accountability should also be accounted
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif addressed the nation on Friday in regards to the investigation being carried out related to the Panama Leaks and announced that he will write a letter to the Chief Justice (CJ) of the Supreme Court (SC) Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali to form a judicial commission to probe into the Panama Leaks, reported Dunya News.
PM stated that his entire life is like an open book, which is there to be interpretted. He said that he loves the land of the country as he was born and raised here. PM Nawaz said that attempts are being made to destabilise the country.
He added that the allegation placed through Panama Leaks are 22 years old and that the urge of certain people to attain authority is leading the country towards destability. He said that it was decided to make a commission under a retired judge. PM Nawaz stated that his family has been paying taxes for a long period of time.
"People of Pakistan have awareness", he said, adding that the media of the country is independent and needs to take into account the reality of the matter. He said that he will relinquish his designation if the allegations levelled against him are proven true.
Referring towards certain opposition parties, he said that "those who attacked the Parliament are now talking about the rule of law" and that "those individuals who do not have any businesses fly in (private) jets". He added that he is ready to be accounted in regards to every penny earned as he has done this in the past and will continue doing so in the future.
He added that the government is all-set to make a judicial commission to probe into the Panama Leaks. "Our vision is of a prosperous and a strong Pakistan", further stating that "it is saddening that the valuable time of the people was wasted, which is a punishable crime". He stated that the character of distinguished judges was being maligned by certain individuals
He announced that he will write a letter to the Chief Justice (CJ) of Pakistan Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali to form a commission to investigate the allegations levelled through the Panama Leaks.
