Summary Tanveer Tahir was supposed to purchase bulletproof jackets for police but he fled with the money
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sources indicate that Sindh Police Assistant Inspector General (AIG) logistics Tanveer Tahir is responsible for massive corruption within the police department as the money that was supposed to be used by him in the procurement of bulletproof jackets for Sindh Police officers turned out to end up in his own pockets, reported Dunya News.
Upon intimation, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) initiated investigation against Tahir but he somehow managed to flee from the country.
Sindh Home Minister brought the matter regarding the poor condition of the police mobiles and the lack of adequate facilities available to the policemen in the notice of Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah who ordered that the policemen be provided bulletproof jackets on immediate basis.
Earlier in the day, police mobiles in Korangi and Bangla bazaar, Karachi, were targeted by the terrorists that resulted in the martyrdom of 7 policemen.
