LAHORE (Dunya News) – Inspector General (IG) Punjab Police Mushtaq Sukhera stated on Friday that the operation against Chotu gang has not been halted and is being carried out with full force, reported Dunya News.

While talking to Dunya News exclusively, Punjab IG stated that the Pakistan Army and Rangers’ officers are providing their full support in the operation. Pak army, Rangers and local police officials obtained all the information from the area before launching the operation, he said. However, Sukera refused to provide any set date for the conclusion of the ongoing operation.

Sukhera further added that the police officers who took part in the operation were trained by army officials and that officers do get martyred during such operations. Punjab IG stated that the Chotu gang has been restricted to an island whereas four terrorists have been killed as of now because of the operation.

He added that the conditions on ground are changing at a rapid pace, further stating that those who criticise the strategy should know that while the operation is ongoing, the decisions in regards to the operation are made by the Field Commander present on-duty.
