LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday has stressed the need to benefit from the increasing demand of Halal food in the world market.

He was addressing the 5th International Halal Food Conference in Lahore. CM Punjab inaugurated the conference and also visited the stalls.

The Chief Minister said Pakistan is at 10th position in the world in livestock and dairy farming whereas India’s international meat trade is ahead of Pakistan despite having a ban on cow meat.

However, he said practical measures are needed to develop livestock and dairy farming on modern lines.

CM Punjab stated that modern slaughter houses have been made but no benefit is being taken from them which calls for accountability of those responsible for it.

In an emotional tone, Shahbaz Sharif said that such conferences and English speeches will not be beneficial if the nation is not attaining economic benefits from them.

Moreover, he also reiterated that strenuous efforts are being made to overcome the energy crisis.
