Summary Pakistan investigators' visit was not based on "reciprocity," said Abdul Basit
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Indian National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval has contacted Pakistani counterpart Nasir Janjua and discussed progress of team probing Pathankot attack, Indian media claimed Saturday.
The National Security Advisors, according to India media talked about the ongoing probe over Pathankot attack.
Doval asked Pakistani counterpart to inform about details of investigations conducted by Pakistani probe team that visited the Indian airbase. The Indian NSA did not discuss matter of National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) permission for Pakistan visit.

Earlier Pakistan had denied permission to members of Indian agency to visit Pakistan in connection with Pathankot probe.
Doval also met Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday to discuss denial of permission by Pakistan. Pakistan High Commissioner (HC) Abdul Basit’s recent statement stirred the situation.
Basit had stated that Pakistan investigators’ visit was not based on “reciprocity.”
Reportedly, Indian NSA called Nasir Janjua on Friday night and complained about Basit’s statement. Doval expressed his dissatisfaction over Basit’s remarks.

According to the Indian media, Doval urged Janjua that Pakistan should reject the High Commissioner’s statement.
The Indian media also claimed that the statement might negatively affect the upcoming expected visit of Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi if Pakistan avoids taking clear stance over the issue.
On the other hand, High Commissioner Abdul Basit had earlier stated that Pakistan is desirous of peaceful relations with its neighbour but India was not cooperating at any level.
Basit added that India was not willing for comprehensive talks with Pakistan, which was why the peace process remained suspended between the sides.
The High Commissioner had further said that arrest of RAW agent, Kulbhushan was a reiteration of Pakistan’s stance.
