KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Karachi division president Najmi Alam has made startling revelations about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) withdrawn candidate in NA-245 by-election, Amjadullah Khan, Dunya News reported Thursday.

Alam, while talking to the media said that Amjadullah had visited him on Wednesday, a day before polling in NA-245 by-election and offered to withdraw his candidacy in favour of PPP for money.

However, he added that Amjadullah’s immoral offer was denied.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf suffered a major setback in Karachi’s NA-245 by-elections late Wednesday night as party’s nominee Amjadullah Khan announced his withdrawal from the election in favour of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) candidate Kamal Malik a few hours before polling began.

Khan announced his withdrawal during a late night press conference at Nine Zero.

Khan presented a list of grievances that he had with PTI. He stated that the local leadership had neither offered support nor any cooperation in the election.

The PTI candidate also complained that PTI chairman Imran Khan did not, for once, contact him to get an update on the campaign; instead he was left on his own.

Khan stated during the press conference that Imran Khan was a good person but he cannot handle the party.

Speaking on the occasion, MQM leader Amir stated that the results of NA-245 would be no different from those of NA-246.

Meanwhile an emergency press conference called late at night by PTI to tackle candidate’s withdrawal was called off shortly due to clash amongst party workers.

Journalists and reporters were mistreated while media was stopped from covering the incident.
