JHANG (Dunya News) – Atleast seven people were killed and 14 sustained severe injuries on Sunday on Khushab road in Jhang.

According to details, the car carrying pilgrims to the shrine of Hazrat Bahu Sultan crashed with a truck and lost control due to over speeding.

The incident resulted in the immediate death of four women, car driver and two men.

The injured were shifted to District Headquarter hospital (DHQ) by Rescue-1122 and private vehicles for medical assistance.

Pakistan has one of the world’s worst records for fatal traffic accidents, blamed on poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.

Over 9,000 road accidents are reported to the police every year, killing on average around 5,000 people, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
