Summary JI chief compared former dictator’s release with "corruption"

LAHORE (Dunya News) – While addressing to Corruption-free Pakistan seminar held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq criticised the government over the way it handled the Pervez Musharraf case, stating that allowing the former dictator, who violated the constitution twice, to leave the country is corruption, reported Dunya News.

He added that only those want a ‘Naya Pakistan’, want a newer version of Islam and the Quran as the path for ideological unrest is being paved through such acts.

JI chief said that Musharraf left the country on the accounts of problem with his back whereas a vast majority of people suffer from such problems. He added that the former dictator’s back-ache healing as soon as he reaches Dubai is peculiar.

Siraj stated that every year, the people have to spend an amount close to Rs. 250 billion as a result of being bribed by the authorities in order to get their legal tasks done. "The Orange Line project costs around Rs. 162 billion and every citizen is indebted to Rs. 1600 as a result of such projects” he said.

Secretary General JI Liaquat Baloch criticized the government over its uncontrolled expenditure, stating that if investigation is carried out against any personality then either Mr. Zardari speaks up or the Prime Minister.
