QUETTA (Dunya News) – Torrential rains in various area of Balochistan continue to pour on Friday and has wreaked damages to a great degree.

The low lying areas were submerged with several link roads being washed away.

A flood situation occurred after a breach in Jhal Magsi’s dyke whereas the drains in surrounding areas of Chaman and Zhob overflowed after heavy downpour.



Many dilapidated houses were demolished and atleast four people lost their lives as roof of a house fell in Zhob.

Heavy rains also lashed Makran, Sibbi and Dilbandin.

A strong weather system, located over Iran, gripped Balochistan on Thursday, producing widespread rains.



Met Office had forecasted heavy thundershowers at times very heavy in Zhob, Quetta, Sibbi, Kalat and Makran, Naseerabad divisions during Thursday evening to Friday evening.

Heavy thundershowers will trigger flash floods in the vulnerable areas of the province, it added. 



In view of the abundant shower in the province, Commissioner Quetta has revoked the holidays of relevant departments and has also issued alerts in Qila Abdullah, Pashin, Chaghi and Noshki to meet any emergency situation.
