PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Increase in rat-biting cases in Peshawar woke up the local government to launch action into the matter, reported on Saturday.

The decision was taken after an eight-month-old child was bitten by rat and lost his life. The bereaved family took to the streets and demanded the government to prepare strategies in this regard.

Hasan Garhi, Bacha Khan Chowk and other adjoining areas are witnessing maximum number of deadly rats. The irked locals have urged the government to form special force for killing them.

Taking notice of the complaints, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pervez Khattak has pulled up socks after which local administration and water and sanitation company have altogether started working.

Special directives have also been issued to the companies responsible for cleanliness in the metropolis.
