SRINAGAR (Web Desk) - In their fresh act of state terrorism, Indian troops martyred three Kashmiri youth in Tral town in the Occupied Kashmir today (Thursday).
According to Kashmir Media Service, troops of 44-Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force during a siege and search operation destroyed a house with heavy mortar shelling and explosives in which bodies of Mohammad Ishaq Parray, Asif Ahmad Mir and Aashiq Hussain Bhat were recovered from the debris of the house at Dadsara area of the town.
The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Awantipora, Muhammad Irshad claimed that all the three militants who were holed up inside a residential house in Mir Mohalla of Dadsara were killed during the gunfight.
Meanwhile, Indian police used brute force and fired teargas shells after people staged anti-India protests and attempted to march towards the area.
Pro-freedom songs were also played on loudspeakers of mosques to drum up support for freedom fighters. Similar public protests erupted during the three-day long gunfight at Pampore last week.
Since 1989 several groups have been fighting Indian forces deployed in the Kashmir region, seeking either independence or a merger of the territory with neighbouring Pakistan.
The fighting has left tens of thousands, mostly civilians, dead.
Kashmir has been divided between rivals India and Pakistan since they won independence from Britain in 1947. Both claim the Himalayan territory in full.
Overall violence in the restive territory has sharply declined during the last decade, but armed clashes between rebels and government forces still break out regularly.
