KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif will lay the foundation stone of Green Line Rapid Bus project in Karachi on Friday. The project will cost Rs 16 billion and will take one year to complete, reported Dunya News.

According to PM House spokesperson, Nawaz Sharif will lay the foundation stone of the project tomorrow. The 17 kilometers long project will take Rs 16 billion. The spokesperson said that Green Line Rapid Transit system will be the first of its kind in Pakistan and the funds will be provided by the federal government.

The spokesperson further said that Green Line Rapid Bus project will prove to be a milestone in the transportation system and will provide transportation facilities to the citizens of Karachi. Meanwhile the project will also help share the pressure on the transportation system in Karachi. He added that the project will start from Sarjani Town and end at Municipal Park at MA Jinnah Road. He told that 300,000 people will benefit from the project daily.
