Police on trial for Gizri student's encounter escape, CTD handed over case

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Four police personnel involved in alleged murder of student named Zakria in Gizri area have fled while Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has been handed over the case, Dunya News reported Friday.

In January, Zakria Janjua was shot dead in precincts of Gizri police station. Reportedly, the student had returned from Malaysia six days before after completing his education. However, police stated that he was a criminal.

CTD AIG Sanaullah Abbasi is leading the investigation in the matter. Police raided residences of the four culprits on orders of the court.

However, sub-inspector Din Muhammad, constable Mushtaq, Noorul Ain and Sikandar were not found. Police authorities said that hunt for the absconders is underway.
