ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Financial irregularities worth Rs 3.75 billion have been reported pertaining to illegal appointments, purchases and surveys on part of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) in 2013-14 period, Dunya News reported Saturday.

Dunya News has obtained audit report of OGDCL fiscal year 2013-14. Report states that more than Rs 10 million were spent on illegal appointments of officials. The department bore losses amounting to Rs 10.18 million due to delay in payments.

The institution suffered loss worth Rs 540 million in agreement with Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) over supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The development authority also bore Rs 210 million loss in other LPG supplying agreements.



The audit report reveals that purchases made by the department had financial irregularities amounting to Rs 450 million while officials’ salaries worth Rs 18 lac were issued before having them take charge.

The national institution paid additional Rs 1.73 billion in 2D seismic survey.
