KARACHI (Dunya News) – Dunya News has learnt on Wednesday that police have been kidnapping citizens for ransom in Malir Khokhra Par area of Karachi, reported Dunya News.

According to the details, the Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Zulfiqar allegedly kidnapped a citizen named Naeem also known as (AKA) Guddo from the airport and without any registered case he was put behind bars in the Police station. The ASI then allegedly asked for a ransom worth two hundred thousand rupees from Naeem s family. Zulfiqar allegedly threatened to register an anti-narcotics case if he is not paid the ransom. The police and the ASI finalised the ransom amount of one hundred and thirty thousand rupees for which the latter received advance fifty thousand rupees payment.

Dunya News has obtained the footage of this exchange of ransom. In the footage the ASI Zulfiqar is seen receiving the advance ransom amount. According to the brothers of victim, one police official had a business dispute with Naeem. They accused that Naeem was being harassed by the police. This is why the ASI ‘abducted’ him and asked for the ransom.

After the footage was released on Dunya News, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi Town has taken the notice of the video and issued the orders of arresting ASI Zulfiqar.
