Summary Court sent 2 retired military personnel on Judicial, 1 suspect on physical remand

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court has sent two retired military personnel to jail on judicial remand on Thursday while one suspect handed over to NAB team on physical remand for investigations of Defence Housing Authority’s (DHA) Land scandal, reported Dunya News.

According to the details, NAB has obtained record from DHA for the Land scandal probe. Judicial remand of two former military personnel and physical remand of a suspect have been given by NAB court.

During the hearing, the NAB court sent Brig (retd) Javed Iqbaland Col (retd) Sabahat Qadeer Butt in jail on judicial remand while the chief executive of Kamran Kiyani’s company was handed over to NAB for five more days on a physical remand.

Meanwhile, Ishfaq Pervaiz Kiyani’s brother Amjad Kiyani in his statement given to NAB has said that his brother the former Army Chief had no relation with the business. He said that the younger brother Kamran Kiyani is in Dubai and he will be available when needed for investigation.

NAB has included former army chief Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani’s brother Amjad Kiyani in investigation of Defense Housing Authority (DHA) land scam, Dunya News reported Thursday.

The accountability bureau has got hold of the record of DHA land scam.

However, on the other hand Amjad Kiyani in his statement has stated that none of his brothers is involved in the scam.

Amjad has said that neither Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani nor Kamran Kiyani has anything to do with the crime. Kamran is residing in Dubai and would present himself before authorities whenever called, he added.

Earlier on January 11, Amjad, while talking to Kamran Khan in his programme named ‘Dunya Kamran Khan Key Sath’ had denounced accusations leveled against his brothers.

NAB is pursuing a reference against Kamran Kiyani, Hammad Arshad, owner of Globaco (Pvt) Ltd and Muhammad Hussain among others worth at least Rs 16 billion in land allotments for development projects in Defense area.

Both Kiyani and Arshad were given contracts to erect a housing scheme in Defense area. However, the alleged culprits pocketed billions of Rupees and deprived the project of funds but some.
