Dense fog reduces visibility in parts of Punjab

Summary Foggy conditions would continue over some plain areas of Punjab during morning and night hours.

LAHORE (Web Desk) - Fog has enveloped different areas of Punjab on Wednesday badly disrupting the road traffic and flight schedules, Dunya News reported. 

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), foggy conditions would continue over some plain areas of Punjab including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala and Sialkot and also in upper Sindh during night and morning hours.

Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country on Wednesday.

However, mostly cloudy weather condition with light rain and snowfall is expected at isolated places of Malakand, Upper FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Widespread rain in Malakand, Hazara divisions and Kashmir may trigger landslides in the vulnerable areas during the period.

On Wednesday morning, temperature of some major cities including Islamabad was 7°C, Lahore 10°C, Karachi 21°C, Peshawar °C, Quetta 8°C, Gilgit and Murree 2°C and Muzaffarabad 4°C.

The Met Office has also forecast good rain in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and northern Balochistan during the next twenty-four hours.

Moderate to heavy snowfall is also predicted in Chitral, Kalam, Malamjabba, upper Dir, Kaghan, Naran, Shangla, Murree, Gillyat, Neelum valley, Rawalakot, Bagh, Haveli, Skardu, Hunza nager, Ghizer, Ghanche during Thursday to Saturday.
