LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore police on Wednesday forwarded summary to Inspector General (IG) Punjab pertaining to establish 17 new police stations and 15 checkposts near hospitals.

According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) operations Haider Ashraf, crime rate is increasing in the metropolis with the rise in population due to which police stations are needed to curb the criminal elements.

Lahore police have proposed the establishment of 17 new police stations and 15 checkposts in the hospitals in wake of the recent criminal incidents.

Police have sought permission from IG Punjab and has also requested to provide space for the checkposts.
