Summary Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah chairs meeting of the apex committee

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Rangers Director General (DG) Major General Bilal Akbar on Tuesday has said that at least 2,350 Afghan citizens have been apprehended in 10,738 raids in Sindh.

The Rangers Director General has briefed meeting of the apex committee which is ongoing.

Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah is chairing the meeting. Governor Ishratul Ibad, Corps Commander Lt General Naveed Mukhtar and representatives of Sindh Police and intelligence agencies are taking part in the meeting among others.

The meeting has been convened to review implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) and targeted operation against criminals.

The meeting was briefed that at least 203 persons were arrested for delivering hate-speeches while 736 cases were registered. Police and Rangers conducted 2,219 joint operations in different areas.

At least 1,109 cases were registered against illegal immigrants. The meeting was told that four terror sponsors were apprehended in Karachi and two cases were launched. As many as 25 cases were registered for violation of ordinance regarding temporary residence while four were apprehended.

Prior to meeting of the apex committee, Qaim Ali Shah, Lt General Naveed Mukhtar, Ishratul Ibad, Major General Bilal Akbar held convened a sitting.
