Summary Pakistan is concerned over the tensions between the two countries says Sartaj Aziz.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz says the schedule of talks between foreign secretaries of Pakistan and India is still intact. He and Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid were talking to media after an exhibition of thesis work by National College of Arts’ students, reported Dunya News.
According to the details, Sartaj said that so far India has neither confirmed nor cancelled the scheduled meeting. To another question, he said Pakistan wants reduction of tension between Saudi Arabia and terrorists and other forces can exploit their differences. He said Pakistan would play an active role for defusing the tension. All the Muslim countries need to play positive roles in this regard.
Replying to a question on the occasion, Pervaiz Rashid said Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif heard the reservations of Sindh and directed Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar to address them. The Information Minister said the PML-N government is promoting democratic culture in the country. He said four different political parties are ruling in the four provinces and the federal government has never created any hurdle in smooth functioning of any of the provincial governments.

Expressing concern over hostile relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Tuesday toll the National Assembly that terrorists can benefit from the prevailing situation, Dunya News reported.
Pakistan is concerned over the tensions between the two countries, Aziz said.
He further stated that Muslim Ummah is facing sever threats and challenges in the prevailing circumstances.
The adviser said being friend of Saudi Arabia and Iran, Pakistan will try to bridge the divide and improve relationship between the two countries.
Pakistan will continue to play its positive role as an important member of OIC, he added.
He said after the visit of Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister to Pakistan on Thursday, he will be able to give a more detailed statement on the issue of tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia and other related issues.
On the other hand, Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah rejected Sartaj Aziz’s policy statement in the House.
Shah said that Aziz should not read Foreign Office’s (FO) press release to the participants as it sounds like a statement of a ‘weakened and helpless state.‘
He demanded the government to clear its constraints and ties with the countries as Saudi-Iran tiff could affect the entire region.
Shireen Mazari said the issue is very sensitive and the government should have an even handed approach towards it.
