Summary Nawaz said terrorist hideouts destroyed, revival of Pakistan’s economy appreciated world over
COLOMBO: (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Tuesday said that Pakistan is fighting many challenges including energy crisis and terrorism. He said that terrorist hideouts in the country had been eradicated. He added that Pakistan’s economy has been stabilized and the improvement has been appreciated world over, reported Dunya News.
Addressing Sri Lanka’s Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies, Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan and Sri Lanka share great friendly relations. He said that Pakistan has been facing terrorism for the last 30 years but the terrorist hideouts have now been destroyed and major achievements have been made. He added that the terrorists are being targeted indiscriminately.
PM said during his address that Pakistan’s GDP growth has reached 5% and budget deficit has been reduced to 6%. “International monetary institutions are appreciating Pakistan’s economic revival”, he said.
Talking about China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Nawaz Sharif said that the project will prove to be a game-changer for the region.
“I had visited New Delhi for better relations with India because peace, and not collision, is the only path”, said the PM. “I told India that we have to fight poverty, ignorance and unemployment together”, he said.
Inviting Sri Lankan investors to Pakistan, PM Nawaz said that Pakistan is an attractive country for investment.
